I was watching a youtube video recently about styles that are going out of fashion or will be “dated” soon, and while I agreed with the majority of the video, there was one clothing item that I’m willing to hold my ground on and never give up.
BLAZERS!!
Blazers have been around for decades. And for good reason. The right one can take an outfit from ok, to ”Fashion Blogger” status as soon as you slip it on. And they are incredibly versatile! They go with every outfit from a graphic tee and jeans, to trousers and a cami or sweater, to a date night dress. Everything.
The key to looking timeless in a blazer comes down to two things; confidence and cut.
I won’t preach about a specific cut because that’s how you date yourself. Remember the 80’s when they said the trick to a timeless blazer was shoulder pads? Yeah. I think the actual trick is finding the right cut for your body, and your outfit. Personally, I believe the bigger street style blazer looks amazing with and adds and edge to a graphic tee while a slimmer, more fitted blazer looks perfect for the office.
While cut may be big, it’s not nearly as important as confidence. The best fashion icons do not care what is going out or coming in to style, they know what works for their bodies and their personal style and they rock it!
